Connect Clone+ to an AI app
Clone+ exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Connect a supported AI app and it can read the notes and chat history you keep in Clone+, and create new notes for you.
What you can do
- Search notes, fetch one by id, list the most recent ones
- Follow how notes connect (links, suggested links, hub notes, isolated notes, clusters)
- List, fetch, and search past chat sessions
- Create a new note, add tags or links to an existing one (requires a token with write permission)
What you cannot do
Editing the body of an existing note and deleting notes are intentionally unsupported, so that an AI cannot damage what you already have. Every note created through this connection is tagged ai-created, so you can review them together later.
Two ways to connect
| Paste the address | Access token | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | AI apps that support custom connectors | Your own scripts and command line tools |
| Setup | Paste one address and approve it | Issue a token in the app and send it in the Authorization header |
| Permissions | Read and write | Choose read-only or write when you issue it |
| Expiry | Refreshed automatically | Valid until you revoke it |
What you need
- A Clone+ account (the free plan can connect too)
